firefly

Liz and I finished watching Firefly last night. What an amazing season. We are both sad that it got cancelled by lameo fox. BTW, the main reason I wanted to watch this is not because my father, my brother and even Kathleen recomended it. But because while waiting in line for Lebowski fest, a guy dressed up as the cowboy from the movie praised it up and down. Said he wants to plan the first Firefly fest.

On Monday, Liz and I cuddled on the couch while watching three of the episodes. A good show can really bring us together.

We’ve been running our air conditioner a lot because of the heat. Our SDG&E (San Diego Gas and Electric) bill went up from just under $20 a month to $50! Hot Diggety. Looks like its back to fans for us po’ folk

Both of the RPGs I was so happy about finding last week did not work. They were too scratched up. I returned them on wednesday. kinda bummed. I mean, you guys saw how huge that sword is.

So I havent been playing gaems as much.* Liz and I have begun watching Firefly. And oh man. I saw that Serenity movie cause everyone told me to. Gotta say I wasn’t too impressed. So my dad passed on to me the firefly series my bro gave him. And its been sittin’ there over a month. Finally put it in. Liz was on the comp. “You can watch it if you want, I’m not going to,” she said just like when I first put Babylon 5 on. She was next to me on the couch in like 5 minutes, and we have been loving these episodes. What idiots (FOX) cancelled this show? It makes no sense. The episodes are written better than most movies.

And my parents took us and my bro and his wife to see the latest Shyamalan film, Lady in the Water. What a POS. I’m sorry but I like watching a story, not having it told to me. Did anyone enjoy this? I don’t see how. So sad. But we went to lamppost pizza for food and stout afterwards, so that sort of made up for it.

And then my best-friend since I was 8, Dale, got married two weeks ago in Florida and had his wedding reception party here. It was great seeing my old bud. He’s down for 2 more weeks, and then him and his wife are gonna go do ESL in Korea for a year to save up a bunch of $$.

*I did get an old SNES game, Zelda: a link to the past, on my DS and have been playing through those old, but so enjoyable, dungeons.

oh the humidity!

July 17, 2006 at 5:08 pm (Uncategorized)

Southern California is now proof of the earths fucked up climate change.

Goodlord, it has been hot and humid for weeks. Usually it gets like this one mabee two weeks a year. But its been going on for two months with only a few, small, intermittent, so-quick-you-hardly-notice-and-then-back-to-the-damn-bullshit-heat breaks. It makes it very difficult to want to go out. But we manage.

At Gamecrazy, one of the only vg stores that buy/sell older titles, I found this gem:

Get this: online (ebay, half.com) this sells for at least 35$ used. I got it at Gamecrazy, with case and all, for $10.49! I have wanted it for a while. I mean, check out that fuckin’ sword. IT’S HUGE! You know it’s gonna be an amazing game.

tomorrow in today

Liz and I have been having many heated discussions the last few days. It’s been a little tiring.
She got offered a promotion at her job, but it would change her hours. Right now she has monday to friday 7-3 hours, which coincide with mine, so i drop her off and pick her up. If she accepts the promotion she’d have to do varying shift hours and would need her own transportation. She looked at the bus schedules, but the public transportation is not feasible at all. She wants a car, but the expense is great. I told her we could look into apartments near her work. But we got a great deal on the place we are living in now, have had no problems, and moving is such a hassle. So as it is she is pretty sad that she cant take the promotion.

At home, I’ve been entertaining myself with old Star Trek TNG episodes on the computer.

nothing left to do

July 3, 2006 at 1:18 pm (everything in between)

The Leonard Cohen movie is coming out soon. And it is not showing anywhere at all. I live in fuckin’ california forty-five minutes from san diego and an hour and a half from LA and I cannot find anywhere that is showing it:(
It got amazing reviews and awards from the festivals.

The comp is arriving today. Curt just has to put it together and install some programs.
I bought The Village and watched it again. Why does no one else seem to like that film?

…please someone comment and say you love it.
